General Motors, through its German subsidiary Opel, manufactured the vehicle that gave rise to both Opal and Caravan, which was the Opel Rekord C, manufactured from 1967 to 1971 with versions of two doors, four doors, station wagon (called Caravan ) and also a rare convertible version. The exterior version, like the Brazilian Caravan, had three doors, in addition to a five-door version.
